Are they really forced into bankruptcy, or is this a cynical ploy to garner sympathy and hopefully to affect the pending court decision on their eligibility to haul mail.

Why would they declare bankruptcy now? Until the court releases it's decision, they are still getting the same amount of mail that they have been.
