Back when I flew for Horizon the company would let flight attendants line share. Two or maybe three FA's would get together and bid one like and break it up into three parts. That way they could get out of the house a little, get benefits and earn some pocket money, and they didn't suffer the toll of a full time position.
What if the Majors sold jobs to line sharing pilots? The industry is becoming a working hobby anyway why not take it to the next level? Flying is great when you are rested and eager to get out there. It becomes a grind keeping up with these new efficient work schedules. We could all get real jobs and still get 2 to 6 days a month of flying on the side.
I think 25K would easily cover the training costs for a 737 FO. What do you think?
