Here's a quote from the Senator that's kept the Wright Amendment alive for so long...she's changed her tune COMPLETELY:

"I want to get Congress out of Love Field. The best way to do that is to have a local solution, have an agreed-to way that there could be a gradual lifting of the Wright Amendment in an orderly way so Dallas/Fort Worth can plan; American Airlines can plan; Southwest Airlines can plan for the long term.

She sees the handwriting on the wall. I'm betting the politics going on behind closed doors is changing on this issue. While Texas politics may be perfectly happy with it, Congress is not and her peers are (probably) privately telling her to give it up. Thus she is choosing to change her spots to stay politically "plugged in".

Missouri got their good deal now other states want theirs. The Texas congressmen (congresspeople, I like to stay PC) don't want to cash in anymore bluechips on this one. The argument to keep it was substantially bolstered by the perceived need to keep AA protected. They don't need it anymore.

I'm waiting patiently for another illogical pro-Wright argument to show up. They always crack me up

OK, Senator, but if you really want to get Congress out of Love Field, you've got to get rid of the law that only Congress can repeal.

I'm OK with a "Regional Airport Board" as long as it doesn't restrict any airline from flying from wherever they want to wherever they want. All I want them to do is sit back and enjoy watching airplanes full of people fly...from any airport in the DFW area.

Less govt....is better govt.

Like I said, business is business........You might have noticed I stated it was from when the Amendment benefitted the operation. Just makes me chuckle how it becomes all about 'benefitting the poor oppressed travelling public without options in Dallas' when the bottom line is on the line.
