How is life over there? Are schedules pretty good? Everybody pretty happy with the current conditions? With 1000 pilots supposed to be hired in 2007, upgrade should be reasonable.. How does the one seniority list work for everyone? Just looking at a possible move and would like to see how everyone likes it there. Thanks for any info...

4.0..... Give some reasons.... I am not trying to get a mine is better than yours thing started, Just would like some info on what is happening from the people who are there.

Thanks

It's a great airline if you want to make as much as the person serving you food at the Mc Donald's in the food court in LGA!! Pilots need to have standards. I guess a good airline to move onto from Republic would be Jet Blue....

OK, let me give the first reasonable repsonse..

Republic/CHQ/SA is a great place to work for the first few years. I have pointed out in posts of years past that if you come work for this company, you will be a capt in a couple years. It only makes sense; a contract carrier has room to grow their business.

PROS:

-Quick upgrade

-Multiple codeshares allow you to see how many airlines run their show...Perhaps it'll add fodder for a future interview.

- Many bases - you should find one you'd like to live at.

- Opportunity for overtime

- Many aircraft - you could get 3 type ratings

CONS:

- Company does not follow the contract; if you don't believe me, check out how many open grievances they have. Trust me, this lowers your QOL.

- Schedules are inefficient - like 3 legs with 4 hour sits between them? Come to RAH.

- Lineholder reserve - If you fly a line, they will find a 4 hour sit to reassign you.

It's not a bad place to be for a few years, but after that you want to poke your eyes out.

Do you even work for any of the Republic Airways companies??? Or do you just have Diareah of the mouth and not have a clue what you are talking about?????

4.0atRiddle, Rhoid, guppykiller, 80for80, freightnazi, call him whatever your want

He might be that pilot that won $25,000...

If I do the math right 25,000/10=2500.

That's 2500 more times this guy will make up a name and get everybody all riled up about stupid crap.

What name is after 4.0 at riddle?

Republic treats their pilots like crap. I have many 12-13 hr days with multiple 3 hr sits with only about 4.5 hrs of pay. They dont follow the contract and the pay is low for type of aircraft flown. I look at this place as a time builder. Come over, get your flight time and move on to better places.

Yeah...what he said...it's a terrible place to work...don't come here.

Growing company, state of the art aircraft...reasonable pay after your first year. Contract is crappy, but compared to others, tolerable and ammendable soon. Believe me, there will be changes.

Got some good people working the line. Future job potential is wide open with experience on the E170/190 series.

Yeah...don't come here.

Yeah, don't worry about a good contract and QOL. YOU GET TO FLY THE E170/E190!!!! And maybe if you are lucky you will never be able to get to a major because we will fly BIG airplanes for LITTLE pay allowing the majors to kill scope every chance they get. You are everything that is wrong with RAH. Unfortunately I think you are the majority over there.

Good pay second year? It is like 30 bucks an hour... and its a 70 seater!!!

Sorry bud you are about 20 bucks an hour shy of what you should be getting. AT LEAST

State of the art aircraft though. That makes up for it.

Last month at Republic I had 15 days off. They were all day trips. I live in my base so I spent every night in my bed and spent $0 of my perdiem at the $15 LGA food court. I have travel benefits on 3 different airlines and I am most likely less than 6 months from upgrade. I have been here 18 months. Yes life is not perfect, we don't make enough money, blah, blah.. You know that when you apply to a regional so plan accordingly. If you don't want to deal with the low pay for a couple of years go fly somewhere else and quit complaining on this site.

I just came over to RAH from Mesa and believe me i kick myself in the nuts every couple minutes to remind me to never waste time in my life like i did at mesa. About the only thing i dont like the idea of or maybe i just dont have enough experience with is the preferrential bidding

Great post. 121 Turbojet is 121 turbojet, I dont care how much it weighs!!!!!, and the majors dont either.

War Eagle!!

good company. Me, Im nice to the crew scheds and I have done favors for them and they have done favors for me. United trips on the shuttle side has more sits than the delta pairings, hence I bid more delta flying. Im very happy! of course, I wish the pay was better but "hopefully" that will change next contract, among many other things.

come on over!

if u want a better response instead of your typical flightinfo crap

go to:

and post your question under new hire

Its ok the pay does suck for the equipt we fly but then were a regional, but the uprgrade time is relatively quick, we have contract negoiations coming up so rah should be better soon enough. If youre looking to build time and experience come thru if youre looking to making RAH your finally stop come thru and working within the system to improve it.....

:pimp:

Republic is falling apart. The Shuttle side has no out and backs. Flights are cancelling left and right due to lack of crews. No pay protection for cancelled flights due to weak contract and lack of company compliance. When things go bad, good luck trying to get a scheduler or dispatcher on the phone. We are ridiculously understaffed. I very rarely fly an assigned pairing as a line holder without being reassigned. This used to be a decent place to work, but I feel like all our management cares about is driving up the price of our stock. This place is due for a complete collapse in the next year or so. It cannot keep operating the way it is and survive. Continental is extremely upset with us right now. Other codeshares like Delta and United are unhappy with us right now also. Probably does not matter to them as much as Continental because we are cheap.

I seriously see a collapse in the near future if things keep up this way. Some call it growing pains? Well lets hope so. This place is a mess. Like I said "good time builder". I love when people here tell me they are making a career out of this place. Less people I have to compete with when I interview somewhere else. Management has absolutly no regard for the human element. The employees are considered last if at all when managment makes decisions.
