I interviewed for a satellite operation of theirs several years back. The equiptment that they had at the time was large and capable. The Chief Pilot (or whatever his title was) was sort of a tool. Thorough sim check and interview leading up to a job offer but the money was the same as flying 135 (though the benefits were good) said no politley.

Qualifications
The successful candidate will have a minimum of 3 years experience as a Captain on large cabin corporate aircraft such as a Falcon 900, Gulfstream IV / V or Global Express. In addition, experience in international operations including Europe, South America and the Pacific Basin is desirable.

Duties / Responsibilites
The Captain is responsible for the following: 1) Preparation for and proper execution of flights to which assigned; 2) Attendance at all training and enrichment programs as may be required by the Chief Pilot; 3) Maintaining a performance level considered acceptable by the management of the department; 4) Maintaining currency and competency in all assigned aircraft; 5) Demonstrating leadership in the conduct of crew-based flight operations; 6) Demonstrating understanding and compliance with Federal Aviation regulations and department policies and procedures; 7) Performing other administrative duties as may be assigned by the Chief Pilot or Senior Captain.

Liberty Mutual pilots average 18 flight days per month with 11 RON''s. In addition to their flight duties, all pilots are assigned collateral duties necessary for the operation of a large and dynamic flight department which places a high emphasis on safety and standardization.

Saw the same add when I interviewed there a while ago - sim check and tough oral. They seem to have very high (maybe unrealistic) standards. Had no problems with the CP but most people think he's a weirdo. Otherwise looks to be a well-run av.dept - good equipment, decent pay but they fly your ass off.

been there...done that

I was there for a year at the Midwest satellite operation of Liberty(when they bought out another insurance company). It was my first corporate experience and I'm not cut out for the corporate life. We had one airplane in the midwest and three in Boston. When they typed me on the second plane, which was based in Boston, I started to wonder about the future of the midwest division. They started eliminating jobs in the midwest and moving them to Boston and I decided to get out before they shut it down. It took them a couple years but last October they sold the plane in the midwest, closed up shop, and moved it all to Boston. Glad I got out before that all happened. Some people don't get along with the Chief Pilot...it takes a certain kind. The regular line pilots that were there when I was there were great...fun guys to work with. Large department, that's for sure. Last I knew they had a 900B, 900EX, 2000, and one other plane....not sure what it was. If you like Boston it might be decent.....I, however, am just a farm boy through and through. Good luck.

Do some serious research about this flight department operation. There are a couple "unique" individuals there. I can neither confirm nor deny the reports regarding the CP.

I luv flying with the "unique" pilots....

from what I understand the CP has a favorite habit of grilling you with stupid questions for the whole trip... sounds fun doesn't it?

I flew with a CP who would give you a quiz on the aircraft during trips. I shot questions back and he stopped.

As I get older, my middle finger gets taller and taller!
