Looking for an fbo or flying club at or near LGB. I'd be grateful to hear from folks who have done business with Long Beach Flying Club & Surface to Air specifically. Good, bad or indifferent. Thanks much,
Rvr

i dont have anything recent, but as it stood some years ago - Rainbow Air was the place to go: lots of airplanes, from singles to hot rod colemill c-310 and 421; regimented & syllabused environment (part 141). As for the long beach flying club - unlike rainbow with staff instructors, the club used to have free lancers & part 61 training only. Also, very few airplanes & they used to have only one piper twin. Rainbow used to have(probably still does) a pretty busy charter dept., which could mean that their mx might be better. Rainbow was located on Spring Str at the departure end of 25L across the fence from the water tower & next to Tom's Aircraft. Anyhow, hope this helps.
