The FED on the J/S knew our altitude. BTW, the FAA dropped the whole thing when they realized how ridiculous the charge was. The call took 5 seconds and ATC was being monitored by the other guy AND the in range call was req per our FOM 10 min out. NO OTHER words were spoken other than our call sign and "in range". My buddy got tagged also on taxi out (during the same white glove inspection) when company called him for a WB issue and they failed to STOP the A/C on the taxiway before they answered the company call. I guess we can shoot an approach down to minimums in crappy wx at night after a 15 hour duty day, but if your going to talk to company on the #2 radio on taxi out, you better stop the A/C before you talk !
