Came back to work today and found a nice letter from Mgmt that explained how SLC was closing and how that would not be the first or last. Then went on to say that the new 90's/705's would be based in our new pilot domicile of SRQ. Operationally, ASA needed SRQ as a base for the new aircraft as it would allow for more efficient utilization of crews. i.e. - they gain 1.5 hours each day as crews are sent to the Yucatan, Central America, and points south. Official notification of the new domicile will be announced after the ASA pilot's sign off on the pay cuts presented by Mgmt.

How about anyone who wants to go to SRQ takes a paycut and those of us who won't are punished by staying in Atlanta?

Can anybody confirm this "note"? I didn't have anything in my box when I started this trip on Saturday and NOTHING happens over a weekend.

Please explain how that might work.

Haven't been to work to see this supposed letter, but how inefficient would it be to have to send all of those passengers down to SRQ to catch those flights and vice versa!

Grew up in SRQ - what f!!ken joke. You cannot live in SRQ for less than 120k a year/ unless that is where management plans to retire. Anyone who believes this BS needs to have thier ass checked and go work for Mesa.

I moved here 12 months ago friggin expensive average house in my area is $349000 and that is for 15 yr old home. I am all for area development and more jobs coming to SRQ but good luck finding afforable living for the crews

Maybe I'm missing some of the sarcasm in a few of the replies here but I'd suspect that FlyinT just might be kidding and the note never existed.

This is Delta we are talking about, so anything is possible. Anyways that post was BS.

I did get the letter last night when I dutied in for a trip. It does talk a little about the closing of SLC, BUT DOES NOT TALK ABOUT SRQ AS A BASE. It goes on to talk about EFB's and CASS and other B.S.
