Pilots

Need a nationwide PAC. One that will help every pilot in this country with everything from Checkrides, Medicals, FAR's to conducting proper drug testing.

We need to look at what Doctors have done for themselves with the AMA. Doctors don't get dicked with half as much as we do.

A pac with 2600 pilots isn't big enough to affect change in Washington, DC

Okay, I'll start it. Everyone start sending me 3% of their pay and we'll get this thing off the ground. Once we hit critical mass we'll drop it to 2%.

I'll get back with bank account numbers to send your money after I get 200 PMs offering support or 300 posts on this thread.

And I'm going to send that guy in Nigeria $5,000 to get my share of $1,000,000 too....

And that's my point...

It is all about supply and demand

Doctors have made it work (to some extent) by restricting supply of doctors. Only so many new MDs graduate each year. No new med schools in many decades. This is unlike lawyer sand others.

Supply and demand is the big issue with pilots. There are so many who wan to fly at almost any salary rather than have a desk job. It all comes down to Microeconomics 101, 1st week of class.

We need a national seniority list.

Do pilots in any country have a NSL?

You're not an airline pilot. Remember?

This idea wreaks of socialism concocted by some union member who realizes there will never be a NSL. Let's all live in a state of utopia where we're all equal and nevermind the 100's if not 1,000's of business models that would be affected by such a scheme. Unions are fine where they're needed but not always needed in all workplaces. Count me out. Flame away!

Amen to that. This union would immediately put the members at a competitive disadvantage, as employers would hire the non members. :)

That would depend entirely on the scope language of the CBA.

What a great, high self esteem!

Paraphrased from answers.com
The AMA represents about one-third of the nation's doctors. It publishes the weekly Journal of the American Medical Association, one of the most prestigious and influential American medical journals, as well as a host of other journals and books. The AMA is one of the nation's leading lobbying forces, and its political action committee, which dispenses money to political campaigns, is also one of the nation's wealthiest. The association runs awareness campaigns on health issues and works to shape governmental policy that affects doctors and patients. The AMA derives about one-quarter of its revenue through its annual membership fees. Other revenue comes from corporate grants and from sale of its publications and data services. Policy for the AMA is set by its 550-member House of Delegates.

PS, no comparison between the education/profession of MD's, DO's, allied health professionals and a pilot, not even by a mile.

Like it or not, to management, we're highly paid machinery operators.

By the way, You might have a chance passing, if they publish the MD board questions ahead of time, you can study for them just like you did for the private instrument, commercial, ATP, and Instructor ratings.
Stick to hating the integration.
