I am looking through my recurrent notes and I am missing the oil tank capacity for a Lear 55. Is it 1.5 gallons? Anybody have that next to them?

Gracias.

Just wondering where your going for recurrent. This sounds like a question I got on one of my recurrents years ago. When I check the oil, I am checking how low it is. I don't really care how much it holds. To me thats a maintence issue, not something a pilot needs to have in his memory bank. We have plenty of other things to remember.

Right. It just kind of sits in the back of the mind along with alcohol endurance, type, and capacity.

So, do you know?

There's too many variables for that one....first of all, are we talking beer or whiskey? ;)

do yourself a favor, dont check the oil.

they run fine a little low, they run terrible when the cap does not seat properly and it blows out on departure....

It's a six quart capacity oil reservoir.

Hope that helps.
Correct. Don't forget though, the oil system overall has a 12 quart capacity. (Resevior and engine)
