When I was an F.O. I taught myself to fly by looking over at the Captain's instruments (I suppose like CFIs do). This was because there was such huge differences between the altimeters and you had to look over there to use the altimeter anyway. I found it easier to just use the whole left side, even during approaches. I guess RVSM takes care of that too, must have 2 accurate altimeters? Plus I hate those **CENSORED****CENSORED****CENSORED****CENSORED**ed Cessna instruments on the co-pilot's side...
