Lear 31 is a different type from the Lr-Jet type because it doesn't have tip tanks.

GONG!........same type. not that it's a good idea......just the way it is.

btw......go to Simuflite. They have a late model 25 sim. or at least they did a few years sgo.

I was talking recently to a CFI that has a few hours in the right seat in a 25 and he says that the 20 series Lear will each your lunch due the amount of power they have. Also, I heard that they have a critical wing and if you go too fast you will mach tuck and on approach, it's easy to get into dutch roll and hit a wing tank on landing.

I have a couple hundred hours in the 24' and 25's. Yes, they have a lot of power and are very quick in the climb and can bite you in the arse if you are not paying attention. (EX. climbing at 6,000fpm with 1000 to go) To get one into a Mach tuck, you would seriously have to overspeed the wing. And you're more likely to drag a tip tank on a poor crosswind landing than to dutch roll one on to the ground.

I could set off car alarms in the next county with ours.

It is the most effective way to turn Jet A into Noise I know of. Man what a ride. I almost wished I was still flying one.

Well almost.
