ALPA, when times get rough and ugly, true leadership steps up and leads the way.
ALPA has not done that. It seems that they take the backseat approach and been buddy buddy with management instead of standing up for the pilots.

Carry on.

Pvt. Joe Bowers: Why me? Every time Metsler says, "Lead, follow, or get out of the way," I get out of the way.

Sgt. Keller: Yeah, when he says that, you're not supposed to choose "get out of the way." It's supposed to embarrass you into leading - or at least following.

Pvt. Joe Bowers: That doesn't embarrass me.

The only guys making money in this industry are management and the union leadership at the national level and the local level.

ALPA is all about Delta, United and Fed Ex. Anyone else is just an annoyance and will be handled as such.

We all want to move up, but need to be fairly represented in the process.

It really is time for regional airlines to form their own union. How about APSPA? Anti Porn Stash Pilot's Association.

What exactly are you talking about? What do you want ALPA to do? What issue are you even referring to? This is just vague bullsh--.

Huh? How's that? Local ALPA reps are line pilots on line pilot pay and line pilot schedules volunteering their free time to the union.

Idiocracy. A movie that scares me a little when you think about where we're headed as a nation...

Also, it has one of my favorite movie quotes of all time:

"Don't worry scro'. There are plenty of 'tards out there living really kick ass lives. My first wife was 'tarded. She's a pilot now." - Dr. Lexus

Only the ALPA president "makes" money. All other elected reps are paid what they would be paid for flying their schedule only for the days they are doing ALPA work. Volunteers such as committee members are just that, volunteers.

"Yeah, I don't really think we have time for a hand job."

I agree, Idiocracy is actually a scary movie, because it it so true.
