LAX Commuter Hotels

Posting here as nobody frequents the other spot. Looking for a conventient SAFE hotel for the spousal unit. Transportation not necessary.

The Hacienda rocks. Try the mexican food in the diner. And you can walk to El Segundo beach in ~30 minutes.

I can vouch for the Hacienda. I stayed there in late 2000 when I was briefly based there with TWA. Cheap (for LA). Starbucks across the street. Lots of stores and shops around. Train station nearby.

Thanks everybody for the info on the Hacienda. It turns out that the facility I am visiting is less than a mile away. Perfect.

The Grand Cafe has great steak and eggs and cheap beer. A block south on the same street as the front entrance. Also some incredible fried rice (thai style) though its not on the menu.

I lived at the Hacienda for about 8 months in 2006. (I kid about living there but I must have spend 5-6 nights a month) they were really nice to commuters, I did pay an extra $10 for the nicer rooms on the South side.

Lots to do within walking distance, and the van was very timely. like every 15 minutes.

TIP: I would give the driver a $1.oo or two when he loaded my bags in the back, then when you get to the Hotel go get in line (sometimes its kinda long) and the driver would unload the bags around the crowd and bring mine to me in line...in which I was near the front since I got a head start. They seem to help the flight crews out as much as possible.

When you're bored you can hang out in the lobby and gawk at the Lan Chile/Aeromexico flight attendants.....
