I'm suprised the Dept of Homeland Security didn't show up on the scene as well, and raise our threat level until the threat potentional could be assessed.

It's hard to respond to a statement that dumb.

When an aircraft is on fire on the airport, what kind of moron would not put a 100% effort into extinguishing the fire, and prepositioning equipment if there was an explosion and the fire spread. The fire department probably did not know how much fuel was on the airplane (not that it would have made much difference in the response). All they know is they have a fire and they're going to put it out before it gets worse, smoke gets into passenger areas causing casualties, etc, etc, etc. My advice is to stop commenting on things you know nothing about and leave the flying and the ground emergencies to the professionals.

I dont think that statement is dumb. I think they just did the typical overkill. its like sending a whole company out when an old guy has a heart attack. Thank god they brought the hook and ladder!

Stop commenting on things I know nothing about? Actually my taxes go to that type of huge response. One airplane on fire in the mx area, the lax fire dept is the most equipped for that type of fire, anyone else would just be helping out, considering you would be using foam more than water.

Maybe you should stop commenting?
