Any new information would be much appreciated!

How often are classes being held for the rest of the year? How long is the wait from hire date to class date? Is everyone still going to EWR? If so, how long are new hires expected to spend in EWR?

Thank you.

Class of 16 each Tuesday. There were some open IAH 737 on the last bid, so I would expect to see some slots in upcoming classes eventually.

How is the interviewing going at CAL????

Anyone have an idea how much the interviewing has picked up recently? I was informed by my sponsor in the spring that since hiring was slowing down for the summer, I should hear something for an interview date in Sept. It's the 11th and nada. Just got back off a week and a half trip and haven't been able to reach my sponsor as yet. In the spring, I was sitting there when the asst C.P. called the woman in HR and asked her to get me in for an interview. That was the spring and he said end of August to September. I'm having a hard time believing that taking this long is normal.

Anone else taken this long between the "expect a call for an interview" and the call for the interview?

Breathing a sigh of relief.

Thanks.

EWR can be a life sentence!

If you are on the 737 you could hold IAH in a couple of months. My buddy who started class on the 4th was told he will be in IAH by the first of the year Feb. at the latest. The 756 is another story, you will be in EWR at least a year.

I've had a guy working for almost a year on me.....no call yet. Every time he goes to see a chief pilot, etc.....'oh yeah! he's going to get a call real soon!' Nothing ever happens.....I think it's just takes time.

11 internal recs for me.....
4000 hrs 121 PIC........
Check Airman........
5 mins at a job fair with Jackson and getting an interview......priceless.

WTF

It can be very frustrating. I had several talk with the CP personally. (I had PIC time, check airman time) In the end it took a friend of mine who knew the head of pilot recruiting putting in a word and it magically came about.

Good luck- despite the issues here I see more signs of life from the pilot group every day and I like working here.
