Management WILL lose control of the NWA pilots. It will be interesting to see how fast the company bleeds cash, especially when the two companies are on the same balance sheet. NWA pilots WILL NOT work a B-Scale or get a B.S. SL shoved down their throats to subsidize our vastly superior ALPA "brothers."

It's rumored just the few days this past summer of difficult pilot staffing cost NWA nearly $100M. This time the NWA pilots are pissed and the results will be significantly more severe. It would be a lot cheaper for management to settle. Unfortunately, instead of negotiating as two pilot groups to secure a better contract and equity for all, one pilot group felt they could gain the upper hand by portraying Judas.

Until the merger, you can do what you want to your company. Perhaps they will announce BK again, and then where will you be?

Ooooorrrrr, perhaps we can negotiate a joint agreement which will benefit all, negate LOA 19, and then negotiate an agreeable SLI, or invoke ALPA merger policy so that you can stalemate your way to your arbitration that you so desperately want.

The question is, though, what happens when you get your hat handed to you in arbitration? Will you accept it or go crying to mama. Arbitration is still not the goal, a negotiated SLI is.

Nothing is for certain in arbitration.
Fact is that no one is on furlough yet, so the outcome will be different that USA.
It many not just be ratio. NWA guys MAY have something to gain by taking their chances and they know it.

Like those on aircraft they got while Republic guys were not able to bid the big equipment?

On other forums folks are writing that the sticking point is the bottom 1,000. Seems like scope, getting 70+ seat flying on the list and furlough protections could reduce the risk of being at the bottom. Delta flying needs to be done by NWA and Delta pilots.

....and what would you propose for the ASA pilots in that case....Inclusive scope...or Exclusive scope?

I think the 3 wholly owned DCI's should be brought on board, stapled to the bottom by DOH and 100% of DCI flying done by those 3 only. You go from a Saab to a Crj50 to a emb170 to a dc 9 to a md88 and so on by bidding for it....

Include ALPA members.

....so let's say you were actually able to take the flying back....where does a senior ASA Capt. making 125K with their chose of schedule fit into the picture?

You have the right idea....but the devil is in the details....

....then I think we should steal as much of your flying as we can get...oh and if you get furloughed....go to Walmart......

Same seat with a lot bigger seniority number.
A Staple is the best you can hope for.

Those don't go together......Stapled means you can get bumped out of your seat/schedule.....Sorry not going to fly.....

And if you'd have read all of my post I said the 3 wholly owned carriers would be staple and doing 100% of the flying. ASA would be out along with the other 6. Mesaba, Comair and Compass only!
