I was supposed to leave tomorrow 30 May for Army OCS but they changed it to Monday instead. This is the third time they changed it on me. I was originally scheduled to leave 30 Apr but they called me around early March and gave me 30 May and have since called me this week and told me it will be Monday. Anyways Im glad they havent delayed it a whole month again, just a few days. People have told me expect the unexpected from the Army at all times. They do many thinks that dont make much sense.

I didnt think I would be nervous at all but I am. Im in great shape, Im running 3 miles in under 24 minutes and Im not really that good of a runner. The pushups and situps part of the PT test Im doing great on. My only problem is Im nursing a pulled hamstring from all the running I have been doing. I have actually I had to take a few weeks off from doing anything b/c when I first pulled it I continued running on it for 5 weeks and it only got worse. Some injuries you can work through but I found out the hard way this was not one of them. It got to a point only 3 weeks ago I had a hard time walkng when I first would get out of bed b/c it was so tight. Anyways to make a long story a little more short its quite a bit better now. I just hope it doesnt flare up on me in OCS.

I want to thank all the Army dudes on the site that helped me out.
I have met some great people off this site and off www.APTAP.org
The times we got together in the ATL area and threw back a few rounds were great. I will remember a few nights we got together for a long time without going into detail. They were fun. Once again so long, I will try to check in sometime within the next few months. Im still worried if I will be able to survive day to day with my flightinfo.com fix. Later!

Best of luck to you.

Remember:
1- It's a game
2- It's a game with a purpose
3- When in doubt, see rule 1

I never had the lieutenant experience - hope you do.

Don't forget that when you test out on entry, don't do your durndest. You're expected to show an improvement. If you arrive in top shape and hammer out your max (pullup, situp, pushup, run), you've got little upward movement to make. Make the minimum or average, and show your best at the end...something to bear in mind.

Good luck!

Avbug has a good point. Your are probably in better shape now than you will be at the end.

They will do their best to get you out of shape with their weak PT program and by filling your time with BS.

Sounds like you have a good attitude. Good luck.

BJJ,

ALWAYS do your best and stay motivated. Remember fake motivation still shows you are motivated.

Keep saying "Hu Ha" in response to anything and everything and if you dont quit then you will make it through. Dont use that pulled hamstring as an excuse for anything because there are no good excuses. "No excuse, Sir, HU Ha!"

Attitude is Everything.

Good Luck!

Have you already been to basic? You know you have to do that before you start OCS. After basic, you'll be ready for OCS. Also, do you know what branch you've been assigned, or do you get that when you've finished.

Yes, I have to do basic at Benning as well. i will be in a basic class with a bunch of other OC's. Yes I got my branch. i emailed AlLfred Rolland at PERSCOM and I was branched AV. I submitted my blue stamped Class I Flight Physical and AFAST score along with a copy of my 2 log books and my tickets in my packet.
