I think you mean last revenue *passenger* flight for NWA.

NWA still operates 16 B747-200s in cargo service. Incidentally, the cargo division provides quite a profit for NWA.

I think we are down to 12 + 1 spare. Also, they have neglected cargo so much it is now losing money due to old inefficient/unreliable birds while our competiters are taking over our once dominant posistion in the pac rim.

News release said it was going to fly Mil Charters, not cargo. Still pax, just not regular schedule.

I can see the -400s be converted to cargo but for NW, it's not going to be too soon but eventually. And that sucks for them. -200 cargo conversion seems no longer competive. It was nice five years ago. The Asian carriers like JAL are already doing the -400 cargo conversion so they can make good use of the -400s that were replaced by the B777-300ERs, They can fly NRT-West Coast non-stop.
