Class 1

All Fed Ex cares about is whether you can hold a class 1 flight physical. There is no additional medical screening.

So, the real question is... Can you hold a class 1 with Lasik?

Don't know specifically about Lasik, but I hold a Class 1 medical with PRK. I suspect Lasik would be fine also. The Navy did my PRK. PRK was chosen by the military since it eliminates the fear that the flap that is cut in lasik and partially grows back (only 10% strength) could actually come off during rapid depressurization or other forceful trauma to the eye which would leave the eye essentially blind (yikes!).

Anyway, good luck with any surgery, and if you have any doubts, contacts aren't a bad way to go.

I know several pilots here at FDX who have undergone laser surgery. Don't know if it was PRK or Lasik.

Lasik

I had lasik done over a year ago....one of the best decisions of my life. UPS only cares that you can hold a first class physical.
