Wondering if anyone knows the gouge on the recurring ads for Gulfstream pilots @ the LAS casinos. What makes it such a bad gig. Just curious.

Not sure - I have an interview with them coming up and also wondering that. I put a previous post and did not get much feedback. Also curious as to the average pay rates for this equipment.

Mgm

I've heard some rumors but nothing firm. Heard they hired a few guys but that they didn't work out. Also heard that the flight department is overseen by a 20 something finance guy. Rumor only. Good luck.

It's too difficult to fly and play the 10 cents slots at the same time... Personally, flying a G-Whizz and living in Vegas wouldn't be too bad.

Dangerboy over at C&M has the real scoop on operations in Las. Here is a quick rundown of the few I know.

Corporate Flight Management is a good place to start. Lots of connections working there. And from talking to him he enjoyed working there.

Herbst/Collins- They have a GIII,Ultra,and a Helo
Wynn-Global and a BBJ
Venetian-BBJ and 767
LVDC/Gaughn-CRJ
Findlay- Citation??
MGM/Mirage- G-Streams
Harrahs/Caesars- DA-2000's and had X's. Might have gotten rid of those.

LAS G's

How about Fertitta? I have seen a GIV a few times in LAS that shows to be registered to a Fertitta trust...Anybody know anything about these guys?

If it's the same Fertitta's out of HOU, I would stay as far away from those CHEAP bas*@*^ as possible. I hear the whole group from the CEO down to the Dir of Trans. who oversee's the flight dept. is a JOKE. This is an accident waiting to happen. Not to mention they fly JUNK!!! I hear.

G-IV .... junk?

Fertitta

They own Stations Casinos and a couple of others as well. When I was flying out of the hanger next to them, they had 2 G-IV's. Nice group of guys. They operate out of the Quail Air Center.

You guys might be talking about different people. I think the Fertitta that Dingus is talking about is the owner of the "Landry's", etc. line of restaurants, Tillman Fertitta. He used to have a couple of CIII's at HOU in a pretty crappy operation. I don't think that Tillman Fertitta owns a casino.

Actually I remember hearing a little more than a year ago that Laundry's was buying The Horseshoe or one of the older casinos in Vegas. Haven't heard much about The Laundry's outfit, atleast not much worth mentioning. I tried Vegas. I was asked to come out and fly contract for a month. The private owner and the entire operation was top notch, would have moved into a G550 in a year and a half. Unfortunately after being in Vegas for 5 days out of 2 weeks, I realized I couldn't stand it there. It is dirty and the only area really worth mentioning is more for Families, or the Strip. I turned it down after two weeks, did my month tour and was glad to be out of there.

Hey guys the Fertitta's I'm talking about is the Landry's ops out of HOU. I did hear they bought one of the LAS casinos. They have at least one helo that one of their pilots crashed and they bought the CL600 that ran off the runway out in Calf. they rebuilt the aircraft (and it shows I hear). They use to have an old Falcon 20 also. They are CHEAP CHEAP CHEAP!!!! It's only a stepping stone type of ops. NO PRO's in this ops. Stay clear if possible......

So those friends on Fox sold out?

Yes and No... They originally received a temporary gaming license because of some past problems. The newspaper said their temp was running out and the gaming control board didn't want to make it permanent.

From what I understand, they made a lot of money on the sale.

Just to clarify a bit-

Corporate Flight International (CFI, Inc.) Manages Gulfstreams, Hawkers, Citations, King Airs. Most of the A/C are CFR 135 qualified and charter is a large part of the business.

Wynn hasn't had a Global for a while. BBJ and G-IV, brand new hangar for both at Quail Air Center.

Venetian has B-767ER (non-stop LAS-Macau), BBJ and several G-IV's.

MGM/Mirage has G-III, IV, V. By end of '07, G-350 (2), 550, V.

Harrah's/Caesar's has DA 2000Easy (2), G-V, G-IV (buh-bye). More Easy's on the way. X's been gone for a while.

Fertitta Enterprises has G-IV, G-III. (Absolutely no connection to Landry's Restaurants)

Station Casinos (controlled by Fertitta Enterprises) has G-IV.

Sky River (one of the E-Bay founders) DA-900EX.

There are many other operators in town but this pretty much covers the best known.

Several over the years including a Westwind. I know they have an aircraft but I'm not sure what.

I think Corporate Flight International goes by the callsign "Vegas Heat." I've seen its Legacy and GIV at LAS - nice aircraft.

Interviewed there about 4 months ago. One Gulfstream driver out of the 37th Sq went there and interviewed and took the job. Low pay starting out at 90,000. PM me if you need the details.

I don't mean to quibble, but I thought the 37th Squadron was flying B-1's.

What an ass you are. If you're going to come on the board and say nasty things about a group of pilots at least have the integrity and cajones to be able to back it up with any specific facts, as opposed to your outright lies. Produce specific facts or STFU.

I know several guys at Landry's. It's not the greatest corporate job by any long shot, but the people I've met there are O.K.
