I was wondering if TSA cuts you any slack when you are in uniform and ID going through security or at the gate.

How about with your laptop? Do they make you take it out of your luggage?

Every time I non-rev I always get the ramdom cavity check at the gate with a little laptop fondling, but I was out of uniform. Now I am off furlough and will be jump seating a lot and was just curious.

I find that in general the TSA has been much nicer than the previous screeners, but we get more or less the same screening. Laptops out, shoes off.

Laptops are always removed from the bag, no matter if you are in or out of uniform. It is given the "sniff test" frequently as well.

The TSA folks have been almost universally professional to me during the past few months. Despite reports to the contrary, I find that just being professional--and civil--to them keeps all of us in a good mood.

Beyond this, however, I won't discuss additional security measures instituted by the TSA, as it isn't appropriate to discuss shortfalls on a public forum.
