How are airports, such as LAX, going to pay for the necessary construction to prepare for the A-380?

Increase landing fees?

Yippee! Just what airlines need, increased costs!

I say make the changes, then send the invoice to the French. :D

Actually, its not just the A380 that they're making these improvements for. The new 777-300ER I read created more force and pressure on the runways then the A380 does. It has to do with the weight being more centralized on less wheels with the 777, then the spread out of weight on many wheels that the A380 was designed with.

So it's not just the A380 that all these improvements are needing to be made. And I'm sure as time moves on, the next generation of aircraft will require all these improvements as well.

The A380 is going to be known as "Humpty Dumpty" for its Giant EGG shape.:p
