2 Falcon 10's And 1 Falcon 50...

Friend Of Mine Works There And Ran In To One Of Their Crews The Other Day. Pretty Much No Schedule And Are Understaffed. I Have No Clue About Pay/bennies But Something Tells Me They're Not Over Paid.

I forgot to mention that they also have a Learjet 35A that's based somewhere out West that they got through an acquisition...

Ha! Funny. I have a friend that works there to and his oppinion is totaly opposite.

Well friend I am just answering the mans question not pulling this from my arse...

Two weeks ago a shot the bull for about an hour with one of their crews in a Falcon 10 and they were telling me that they had NO days off scheduled, but if you really needed a day off in advance it could be "worked out"... I can't remember how many pilots they said they had but distinctly recall my jaw dis-lodge while it fell to the ground when he told me...

This is just first hand information not from a sister-in-law's brother twice removed...

Well, I didn't mean for you to get your panties in a wad. I guess my friend just feels it's a good place to work, that's all.

Apologies, I took the "ha funny" part as an implication that I didn't know what I was talking about ...

Someone's opinion of a good situation is a very relative subject, however for a department/company the size of Kroger to have no days-off schedule and to be as thinly staffed as they are is not that impressive... We're no where near the size of Kroger and at least know when we're going to be off...

sorry, I would ever make you feel that way.

He told me they average 15 days off per month and 40 overnights per year. Not bad if you ask me.

Days that YOU KNOW you have off are what counts, especially if you have a family. Like I said it's all relative. Not bashing the place just calling it for what it is. From what I heard a few days ago THEY ARE staffed pretty thin and THEY DO NOT have a days-off schedule. Anytime someone tells me that if you really need a day off it can be "worked-out" I start to get nervous... Trust me, I've been around the block...

We average 14 days/month and about 1 RON/month for guys on either of our aircraft... What they actually work is not that bad.. If you have a family you should understand that days you know you have off IN ADVANCE is what matters and the fact that Kroger doesn't have them is rather underwhelming for an operation of its type...

I'm trying to figure out why you keep telling us about your job. The guy who started this thread only asked about Kroger.

Alright last attempt. I would venture that everyone else here understands the point. Have you EVER worked for a Fortune 500 flight department??? If the answer is no then that explains why you are having trouble. Don't mean to throw in any additional information. The point I am trying to make (obviously in vein) is that most good fortune 500 jobs will at least have some sort of days-off schedule... That's all I am trying to say here... Good grief...

If you didn't notice I answered the guy's question several times before you chimed in selling your buddy's kool-aid...

The details of my position are merely for purposes of comparison and your education since you seem to be having troubles grasping the concept... Your profile says that your experience is the Dornier Jet which I assume means you have a regional airline background.

Good grief!!!

I am not selling any kool-aid here, just the facts.

Ok I understand what you are saying. No, I have not worked for a F500 company. I guess those are the jobs to have huh? Anyways, he also said Kroger hasn't hired a pilot in 15 years. That has to say something about the flight department.

I'm sure your friend is very happy and as is the guy I know there... Like I said before (around 3 times I think) it's all relative. Someone here was asking about details about the job. I offered up some facts that someone interested in going to work there might find useful, that's all nothing more...

And yes, not having a clue what your days-off are sucks... End of discussion.

All I did was offer up what I knew about the operation as well. I think we both agree it is a good place to work. That is the bottom line, and end of discussion.
