kkd

When they went public a few years ago.

KKD shook every one up at that time it was hot opened @32.00 or so,,,,,,,, and over the months just seemed to climb up and up down a little and a split,,,,,,,,,what a ride and one more pick was GMCR, a small coffee co that was just working their way into various gas stations,,, along with KKD,,,,,,,,,,,

Hopefuly the ride will come back.

If you inspect the unclean mess of the back rooms of a Dunkin Donut store and the unclean hands of the makers, you would not think so mightily of DD. Ask this question: Why are the DD's made behind closed doors and the KK's are made out front where the customers can see em made??? Hummmmmm! There are older KK stores where the goodies are made in the back, but most have viewing windows so customers can watch the magical making of a "Hot In Now" Krispy Kreme right before their own eyes. All of the new KK stores have the production in front for all to see. No mystery cake doughnuts at KK.:)

Every other Sunday,

Every other Sunday, at around 0830, a gorgeous 2.5 year old princess comes into our room with a handsome 4 year old boy and whispers to me, "Dad, time to make the doughnuts!" They don't know where the jingle comes from but they know that's the time the KK 7.9 miles from our house starts the "HOT & NOW" neon sign.

PS. I suspect the grouch has something to do with it but I like to think of it as my kids remmember.:D

Sadly I live in one of the few states without KKD's... Take pity on me!.. On the other hand I have just come back from a vacation for a bit and happened to be located to close proximity to a KKD factory... On that note, I need to go jog some more, I need to work on my willpower...

Oh KK's over DD's anyday... I'd fly a thousand miles for a KKD... Wait, i'd fly for any reason..

I am just sorry that another Southern secret has been revealed to those **CENSORED****CENSORED****CENSORED****CENSORED** Yankees. Now more of them will want to move to the South......**CENSORED****CENSORED****CENSORED****CENSORED** IT

Now Dunkin is good, KK is even better. But if you want the world's BEST donunts and cinnamon rolls, go to ORAMS donuts in Beaver Falls, PA. (about 30 min north of PIT)
This shop has been in busines since the 40's. One of their rolls will put you into a food induced coma! Get a dozen and you may have to start bumping passengers--they weigh about 1/2 lb each!

Hmmm....

TIME: 1134 EDT
Place: Fort Lauderdale

Can you smell them fellas?!?

Just got home with a dozen Hot & Now doughnuts...

Oh no help, being attacked by kids, oh @&(%#$^%@)#($%@(_*#%^_(

You are all WRONG, WRONG, WRONG.
Lay off the cake donuts, back away from the krispykremes; and get yourself ahold of a genuine Kolache. You boys from Texas can travel to: West, Ennis, Zabcikville, or anywhere you find folks who descend from Czechloslovakia. The rest of you will just have to find them for yourselves.

Bon Appetit

BTW, who in blue blazes eats MUFFINS?????????????Man those Otis Spunkmeyer muffins are almost 100% fat. Why eat one of them when you could have had a Kolache?

Hot, fresh KKs are legend around the NE. You guys are killing me talking about them. I paid .95 a doughnut at Starbucks and will do it again. They're not even fresh! A Krispy Kreme, good coffee, and watching a sunrise from the cockpit is a religious experience.

If anyone is in the Pittsburgh area there is a donut shop that is much better than KK. Its called DeAngelis donuts and these are fresher than Krispy Kremes. Hell, I eat a DeAngelis every day.:D

I agree DeAngelis is good, not as good as Orams, though. The only thing I hated about DeAngelis was their commercials. It was almost bad enough to cause you to boycott their donuts!....ok not really, but they were bad!

Donuts? Donuts? Why have a donut when all these passenger terminals are loaded with either Cinnabons, or Cinnabites! Now those are worth ingesting! All that wonderful cinnamon! One of those can carry you all day. I do NOT get the extra icing that's just too much.

Another thing, I am always on the hunt for good Oatmeal Raisin Cookies. Starbucks has good cookies, you can keep their coffee though.

Or in the morning a nice fresh bagel with cream cheese, MMMM!

Like I said before Krispie Kremes are the worst. I have had them three times at three different locations, all with the hope that my previous experience was a fluke. I have never been able to finish a whole one, they are absolutely disgusting.

KK's are small, mealy, and greasy. As soon as you eat one your looking for some sort of solvent to get the taste of stale grease out of your mouth.

You can keep those KK small tasteless grease tampons.

If you have to have a donut stay with either Dunkin Donuts or 7-11 which has surprisingly good donuts, or any of a myriad of independent shops that have either a line or packed parking lot. This of course is on the proviso that any of these are a clean establishment.

When it comes to coffee on the road or out at the terminals it would have to be Seattle's Best or any others. NO STARBUCKS COFFEE! We have a saying in my neighborhood, "Friends Don't Let Friend's Drink Starbucks". When at home it is either Royal Grounds Coffee or Peets Coffee.

I can't believe I wrote all this on just morning snacks!

Another thing, I am always on the hunt for good Oatmeal Raisin Cookies.

I love oatmeal raisin cookies too, and have found that most Subway stores make a pretty good one. At 39 cents a piece or 3 for a buck, they're a bargain. Of course expect to pay more if it's an airport location.

As for KK donuts, I grew up in North Carolina and was introduced to them over 35 years ago. I haven't found a better glazed donut yet. However, I try to stay away from them as much as possible as my post 40 metabolism can't seem to keep up with my current calorie intake.

Easy, it's donut planning.

First plan the trip well in advance, as to make sure the current Wallet of choice has the fuel needed for such trip. Second, make your pax go on a weight loss diet to make sure the gross weight is not exceeded non said trip. This will also benefit in allowing the wallet to gain some reserve incase you have to divert for coffee.

It's all in the pre-eating planning.

-Brian.:D

You guys are a bunch of b@stards! I think just reading this thread has put another 5 pounds on my body. :D

KK's are decent when they are hot but they are still franchise crap. The all time numba one best donuts on the planet are made at Tan's Donuts in Oceanside , CA.

A perfect day is a yellow cake donut with chocolate icing from Tan's for breakfast, a Double-Double with grilled onions for lunch, and either a fish burrito or a carne asasda burito from Alberto's for dinner. As much as I'm starting to like CVG it's a junkfood junkies worst nightmare. Who the f*ck cares whether Skyline is better than Goldstar! They both suck! Oh to back on the beach.......

Sorry. I'm better now.

BTW, If I have to explain what a Double-Double is, you wouldn't understand. Sigh....

A Double Double, my appetite is about to come through the keyboard! You've ruined my evening! I moved 2000 miles closer to the land of the Double Double and I'm still 1000 miles away from the nearest source. Did they not research the definition of "franchise"??

Holy crapola batman, a DOUBLE DOUBLE! I haven't heard that name in awhile. Can someone Fedex a box of them to me? I'd appreciate it. :p

Mmmmmmmmmmmmmm!
