King Air C90B in/out of 3400'?

I was just wondering if it is possible to get a king air 90 into and out of a 3400' runway.

You can definitely get it into a 3400 strip, as long as you're not at max weight in the middle of summer at Denver. Don't know about takeoff though.

We had the c90 in and out of Walkers Cay in the Bahamas. Not sure how long the runway is by memory but its somewhere in the 2000's..

I used to fly in and out of Westchester, PA in a King Air B200 @ 3347' x 50'. Also, Ocean City, NJ @ 2973' x 60'.

I would expect a C90 to atleast be able to do it, but I am not sure.

...double yes. we routinely flew into ~2800 feet. although getting IN wasnt as much fun as trying to get OUT

What field elevation and climate are you talking about? How far are the normal trips out of that field? It should do it no problem....but if you're talking about 6,000' field elevation and 90degrees in the summer....well, don't count on it.

With a bunch of time in C90's, you can do 3400 ft all day long.

Landing on 3400' is a no brainer. You can stop a C90 in less than 2000' even on a bad day. If you don't care about accel/stop you're good to go with 3400 .

Even considering accel/stop you could load up to about 9100 lbs on a 30C day at 1000' elevation. Those #'s are for a C90B.

As Frac mentioned, if you are considering a hot/high departure it's a whole different story.

Yea, well, look at the "A/C flown" of the person you're giving advice to. Probably pretty low time, not much(if any) King Air experience. My post wasn't meant to slam you, just to point out WHO you are giving those blanket statements to.

in my old company we used to operate a 200 out of 1000'. Not the smartest thing but we trained for it. Pretty cool.

I'm operating a b-90 out of 2800 ft now.

this was with the -21 engines which were interesting to say the least.

now we have the lonestar mod and i don't even think about it.

Thanks for all the responses; I guess I should have been a little more specific. The company wants to use something smaller than the SC-7(skyvan) for smaller loads and for getting people in and out. We just started throwing out ideas and the C-90B was the 1st to come to mind.



Specifics:

RW 3400’ with 500’ overrun

Coming out of the Bahamas with 4-5 people (including one crew), trip length should not be more than 200-300 miles.

Not sure where you are trying to go with this statement. We HAVE TO CLEAR CUSTOMS before we leave the Bahamas (less than 70 miles) and as soon as we get to Florida(less than 250 miles). But thanks for the useless statement!
