King Air 300 Type

Is there such a thing as a King Air 300 that doesn't require a type rating other than the LW's out there. Some broker is trying to convince the boss that he has one at a great price that doesn't require the type. Just curious.

I used to own a 300 (FA-188) and I was told during the purchase process that it can be operated as a part 91 aircraft provided the gross wieght is limited to less than 12,500#, like an LW. Correct or not, as a practical matter, no one would insure you.
 
If you are in the Chicago area there is a DE that can do KA 300/350 types. Bring your airplane and some cash and get it done. The guys is a Santa Claus. If you are local, it has to be a lot cheaper than FSI. PM me for details.
