Has anyone heard of a way to increase the MTOW for a 300? I just took a job on one and the boss man wants to know if it can be done. I guess the max is 12,500 and lookin for more. Thanks.

MTOW of 12,500?!? The one I used to fly had a max take off weight of 14K. The 200 has a MTOW of 12,500. That's why you don't need a type rating in a 200, but need a type for the 300. I've heard that there are a few 300LW's out there (LW = light weight) that have a MTOW of 12,500, but most of those went to Europe. I believe it is a paper exercise to get that changed.

Sounds like a 300LW. I think about 35 were built. Give Raytheon a call, they can help with the increase. Once its converted it requires a type rating.

Who cares just fly it as if it's a 300. :)

My old boss used to operate on both Alaska rules and that the military king airs did 14.5. :)
