The TSA is starting to recognize that exposing young children to rigorous screening frightens the children and offends and annoys their parents. Guess which solution they're turning to:
(1) Paying more attention to 18-30 year old middle eastern men and less attention to 0-5 year old children.
(2) Making screening more "kid friendly."
Yes, you guessed it. In Denver, security screeners are using "wands" equipped with puppets and stuffed animals to screen children who alarm when passing through the magnetometer.
I don't blame the screeners themselves anymore; they're just following orders. It's clear to me, however, that those associated with leadership and management at the highest levels of the TSA have absolutely no inclination for logic. In fact, they seem to turn their backs on logic every chance they get.
During the Second World War, Japanese and Germans in the U.S. were, at least, watched closely or, at most, sequestered. It wasn't "fair," but there was very little sabotage within our borders...if any.
Say it with me now: "if this is a war, let's start treating it like one!"
(Now, if some time during the coming months, four airliners are destroyed by nineteen caucasian toddlers, I'll retract my statements...)
