$600! That would cover at least the first night of drinks! ;)

I will be there this Sunday on a trip. My very first time to Key West, I'm really looking forward to it. You will find me at the place that someone said had dollar beers. Thats cheaper than bottled h2o.

I just got done with $2.00 beers at the Key West Beer & Seafood garden. That was as good as I could find without having to resort to drinking on the sidewalk.

Getting ready to plop my ass on beach in Key West for a week. I am looking for some good bone fishing (no homo jokes, please) in between rum runners. Any suggestions on guides ect. Good food would be also appreciated. We will be staying at the DoubleTree ... any comments good bad otherwise.

Thanks

Well it looks like English is going to be there too. Why don't you hook-up with her. She might know something about bone fishing?

Go have some beer at Capt. Tony's on Greene St. just off Duval. The man is a local legend, and the bar is a piece of work for sure. I always stay at the Hilton or the Crown Plaza. Mosty because the are right in old town. Trust me, you don't want to bother with having to cab it in and out of town. It's good to have your hotel within crawling distance. Speaking of crawling, sign up for on of the many Duval crawls. You will have great fun and meet some fun folks. As far as good food goes, there are just too many to mention. About every place has their menu outside for you. Some can be a bit pricy, but I have not had too many bad choices.

I'll be back down there in November. I can't think of a better place to go to forget about life for a while!

G100driver,

I'm going this week. Any recommendations on things to do, other than what's already been mentioned? I'm planning on doing the seaplane to the Dry Tortugas, and taking a jetski tour through the mangroves.

Did you like the Doubletree? I'm thinking about the Hilton, but it's a little pricey.

I was there for spring break last week and stayed at the La Concha crown plaza and it was nice, a really cool pool on the roof and great location on duval...for jet ski tours, talk to a bartender at Crabby Dicks named Chris...he's a really cool guy with tons of stories and we spent a lot of quality time with him...he is a jet ski tour guide and could definately help you with that.

Crabby Dicks is a good place to go for lunch for a good burger. We always sat at the bar and had a few rum runners and talked with Chris...he comes in around 12:30 every week day. If anybody goes there ask for Chris and tell him the Athens guys sent you. Sloppy Joes had a great bloody mary and it really came in handy a few mornings. The kind of heavy guy with long hair at Irish Kevins is great, so stop in if you see him playing. The dualing pianos at Bear Bottom's are pretty entertaining as well. That's about all i've got, stay on the right side of town.

Gardens of Eden

If you want to do somethin really off the beaten path and come back with an interestin story to tell, there's a 3 story building on the corner of Caroline and Duval. Go to the bar on the 3rd floor and come back to tell us about it, the Garden of Eden.
