Carlsbad, California, USA

Haven't been in here in over four years and can't remember much about the airport.

Long-story short: We're looking at going into the airport but want to make sure it's "safe". :) (Falcon 50/900's)

Any insight/info some of you guy/gals might have with more recency of experience would be appreciated.

There used to be some hot chicks that worked at Western. Is that place still there? Have not been there for like 6 years. Oh well, drink heavily.

It is 4900' long with drop offs at both ends. Just don't float brother and you should be good to go. Plant it and park it.

Lots of jets going in and out of there. The guy that used to own Cinema Air used to fly his F-5 trainer in and out of there. Used to piss off the airport manager using afterburners....we loved it. You shouldn't have any problems.

Actually I believe it's 4600' landing distance available, with a nice cliff off the end of 24. There was a Citiation crash there about a year and a half ago, and a King Air more recently, both over runs to the west. Like one previous poster said: plant it and park it.

Have taken a G200 in there quite a few times, a little planning so you are on the light side and it should be no big deal. However I avoid the place like the plague if it is raining. Most of the girls are still hot at the FBOs.;) Over night at the Hilton across the street from the beach and you are doing well.

4900' runway. There are three FBO's on the field. Jet Source (ugh), Premier Jet, and Western Flight. We're based here at CRQ w/ our offices in Premier Jet. GV's in and out of there all the time as well as all the Falcon series. Qualcom has their Global based here as well. FYI....Premier Jet was just awarded the FBO contract with NetJets a few months back.
