Typical month for me is to fly 4 times a month on my days off. Usually local 2.5 to 4.0 sorties equalling about 10 - 20 hours a month. My unit tries to get large ship formations (4 or more) during UTA weekends and if they are going I will generally be on one. Mission types are refueling F16's from Hill AFB, B1's from all over, C130's and A10's from Boise, C17's from McChord, and the occasional BUFF from Barksdale. After refueling we will do about 1 hour of touch and go's.
Every now and again I will take MIL LEAVE and go TDY somewhere. For example, I just returned from Geilenkirchen, Germany where we trained with NATO AWACS doing AR missions over the North Sea and Frankfurt. Rough job ain't it
As far as requiring more time - don't know. My unit just asks that we stay current.
