If you want the job get yourself to Ypsilanti Michigan in a nice suit and talk to some people. Its not hard but you have to be realistic about the lifestyle and the job you're going to be doing (neither are easy).
Schedule is 17 days on, usually in a row. They typically will buy you a ticket to the first departure, but you may have to leave a day early to get the ticket. Normally nothing flies out of YIP which is our base.
Are you talking about Kalitta Air or Kalitta Charters? Two completely different sides of the same company. I know Kalitta Charters is interviewing right now for their Falcon 20s and Lear 24s is Kalitta Air interviewing too? They have a couple different schedules. The schedule for some FO's is 5 on 2 off, some get the longer schedule. My roommate is a CA for Kalitta Charters, and he complains they often fly him on his days off without asking. He commutes from MSP to DTW, but often has to drive it because he can't jumpseat.
Commuting is possible (barely), but they don't have any quality jumpseat agreements, so good luck.
Anyone hear word on the April classes? Anyone get a spot? If so what kind of time are they hiring with? Internal recs? I fired off a resume but havent heard anything. thanks!
