There is a lot of information on Kalitta.

I was in the April 29th class and 4 of the FO's in my class have quit! 3 went back to Atlas and 1 took a LOA.

They need pilots to fill the September class, which will be the next new hire class. This was supposed to be the last class for 2004, but now there are rumors of 2 more classes after the September class.

KA, Kalitta Air, wants 95 crews and right now they have about 60.

Just about anything you want to know has already been posted in this forum.

If any of your questions can't be answered just let me know.

From what you tell me, it doesn't seem like a great place tp work. Any idea why those guys quit? Any info will help.

Those 3 guys who left Kalitta Air had been furloughed from Atlas. Some took the recall to Atlas because of pay: $40 an hour versus $89. (they were on 4th year FO pay at Atlas). The LOA was a medical issue, from what I heard.

The pay is lower at Kalitta Air than Atlas - First year pay at Atlas is $70 versus $41 at Kalitta Air.

Thanks for the info. I am currently at American Eagle, and not very happy there. I was wondering if Kalitta might be good move? I feel that it might be a great experience, however, the pay leaves something to be desired. My houly wage at eagle is less, however I fly almost 80hrs a month. So here are some questions:

What would the first yr FO salary be at Kalita?
Do they offer any benefits like 401k, medical coverage etc etc?
How is the quality of life there?
What are the bases?
Is commuting allowed?
What are the schedules like?

Any answers would be greatly appreciated!

KYIP You are commercial from your home or KYIP which ever is cheaper.

Does Kalitta have any jumpseat agreements with other US carriers?

UAL, NWA, US Airways, Alaska, PSA, USA3000, Spirit, Skywest, Frontier, ASA, World Airways, Aloha and a few others.

Kalitta is a pretty good place to work . The main problem is the chief scheduler. Pay is a little low for new hires but where can else you get B-747 time right now?

The jumpseat list is great. Anyone know if j/s agreements are domestic or intl? Can Kalitta reciprocate rides with the way TSA is these days?

Do they pay any kind of Per Deim while you are working your 17 days straight?

Don't know for sure on the int jump seat. Per diem is $1.50 hr domestic, $2.05 hr int.

A Northwest crewmember verified that Kalitta was listed as both Domestic and International in their FOM. This was a few weeks ago. I don't know about others, but I believe US Airways doesn't differenate between the domestic or international - ie: if you're on the list, you can do both.

That is true about USAirways.They do not differentiate between intl and dom. I have jumpseated on them intl. many times.

I take back all my replies to this thread. This place SUCKS!!! Don,t come to work for Kalitta unless your desperate!!!!! Ive been here a long time and its the Worst I have EVER!!!! seen. It,s all because of on individual... Mark R who should have been run off the property along time ago!!!!!!! If anyone could Fu5k up an airline..He,s the one... however, not the only one here!! I dont know what else to say at this time cause I,m so pissed!!!!

No not that at all. I,m going home for Xmas but this place has just gone to Hell and I,m tired of it. I think the new year will find me in a different line of work. I Hate to say it but as much as I love flying, I just cant take this $hit any longer.
