After lurking for last six months I decided to give
everybody a shout out all you flight info’ers. I just wanted to
let you guys know that I have learned so much from
this website at it has been an invaluable tool
throughout my training 0 timer to CFI-MEI in only 8
months!!! A little info about myself my name is Tyler
I am 26 years old got my bachelors in business admin
at Eastern Washington and just finished Comair
Academy 6 months ago, (wonderful program by the way),
except I didn’t get the first officer at Delta
Connection that I was promised in their ads. So I
have been CFIing at a local FBO here in Los Angeles
but haven’t found anything exciting or rewarding about
it, in fact just the thought of climbing into another
ratty old 152 gives me shivers.

So I have decided to do something productive about it that will put my
career on the fast track. Yesterday I got “the call”
from Mark Ottoesen that I have been accepted in
Gulfstream’s First Officer Program yippee!!! I just
submitted my application online 5 days ago and within
4 days of submitting it I got a response from the
president no less!

I am very excited to be starting this training feel
that the SIC turbine time will be golden when it comes
time to start goin for the big boys. My only regret is
that I didn’t find this ad in AOPA Flight Training
Magazine sooner.

For my contribution to FlightInfo I plan to do what others have
done and do a day-by-day diary of my training so I can
share with all you good folks my achievements as I
progress.

I start in 3 weeks do any of you who have done the program have
any tips as I study like crazy for my F/O slot?

Congratulations on your accomplishments. You must be pretty sharp from going from
student to MEI in 8 months,keep up the good work. It took me a little longer,but it was
worth all the pain and agony to get all my tickets and flight hours. Bottom line is guys,some
get there quicker then others,so dont hate on this guy too much.

Yeah, it sure would suck to have to fly a 152 again after 8 months and 400 hours. Man, I hope you dont get stuck in a ratty B1900 for too long, you need to be flying an A320 or something after all your hard work.
