could someone either post the link to or review for me the proposed JB emb-190 payrate considerations? (cpt & fo) im having trouble finding anything on the matter.

theres aparently some squabbling going on over parts of an issue over at CHQ and i'd like to find out what is being considered over at the other end of the spectrum so i can be better informed.

thanks all.

Airpiraterob,

We are actually purchasing the EMB-190 and there are no proposed pay rates at this time. There has been some informal discussions on the issue but for now, any number is pure speculation and has not been cut in stone.

The company will do the right thing. The captains will be paid somewhere between the bus captain and First Officer. It will be JB seniority list pilots flying the equipment.

Still 2 years till they come on line...

Our relationship with upper (all the way to CEO) management at JB is quite an open one. In fact, one of our catch phrases is "No walls", meaning wide open spaces. If an individual has a concern or a question, just ask them, even if it is David, Dave, or Al. Of course, using the chain of command is suggested but if you really want the straight poop, just ask the big guns. If the answer contains sensitive matter that would compromise a business decision on a higher level, you won't get a tap dance or certainly won't get a lie! You might get a "well, we haven't quite decided yet so hang in there".

So, to answer your question: if informal discussions have been conducted by concerned individual regarding the EMB190 pay they probably have been with either Al Spain or Dave Barger or maybe Pete Russo. I personally don't care myself and have not inquired, but then I am not transferring to the EMB190, at least, I don't think I will. But whatever the pay rate is to be, I am sure it will range from extremely fair to good, probably leaning towards good, at least by industry standards for that type and size plane anyway. The information regarding the proposed pay rates (not hard figures but more so general ideas) was made public by David N. about the same time as the announcement of purchasing them. A few guys have posted the guidelines here on this forum. I think it is known that the EMB190 Captain pay will be a tad below the A320 Captain pay and about the same for the F/O pay. I won't go into what is industry standard for a 100 seater jet because I just plain don't know a thing about it.

Hope this clears things up for you.

excellent

thank you all for your replys. it's helped me understand much more.

The "rumor" and specualation from the guys who seem to have an "in" with the big guys is that the pay rate will be 2/3 of what the 320 rate is.

Those rates have been posted before, so get the calculator out.

Again, pure speculation.

Happy landings

The company will do the right thing.
I just thought this statement should be posted again. If it were one pilot who said that consistantly, I'd just think he was naive. However, ALL JetBlue pilots say things like that therefore they truly have faith in their managament to be on their side, treat them with respect and "do the right thing".
That is a beautiful thing, dont let anyone from the grumpy majors tell you different. They're just jealous, and why wouldnt they be. It must be nice to go to work without looking over you're shoulder to see whats coming to blind side you.

I hope to join you guys one day so that I too can say, "not to worry, they'll do the right thing!"
