There is a thread on this forum titled "To the Airnet Punk who stole my Jumpseat". This thread is so far outside the bounds of Professionalism that it needs addressed. I'm posting this here on the Regionals because they don't seem to have this misunderstanding on the Majors Forum.

Jumpseating is a Privilege (albeit negotiated) but a privilege nonetheless. All 135/121 Companies that have recipricol jumpseat agreements have Jumpseat Coordinators or Committee Chaiman, or someone charged with that responsibility. If you have a LEGITIMATE complaint go through them. If you just want to vent... then fine... but DO NOT make a Jack*ss of yourself by posting a thread titled "To the Airnet Punk who stole my Jumpseat".... complete with company names and veiled threats. How absolutely moronic do you have to be to think this is appropriate??

This is not only immature, unprofessional, it is against the protocol of jumpseating... period. To defend this and do this is bordering on having problems with the people who are in charge of jumpseating at these various companies.

That particular thread that I reference should be copied and sent to all Jumpseat Reps and used as an example of what not to do.

I hope that this thread makes it to the Jumpseat Coordinator of his company and Airnet, as I believe an apology is owed, and the thread originator should be counselled on proper Jumpseat issue Protocol.

Folks.... don't ruin Jumpseating because you have a bad temper or use poor judgement....... or in this case BOTH, on the internet no less.

Angus,

Terry got pissed and vented on the forum thats about it. It may have been wrong on his part but there is no need to make a international incident about it either.

It does raise one question, how does one jumpseat on airnet?

If a 121 pilot seeks a jumpseat with airnet for example and there are reciprocating agreements how does one js on airnet?

7,

Your comments are not very mature IMHO and should be stricken from this thread and you to be warned by the admins. We don't need to read that sh*t.

amazing.. only 45 posts to his/her name and already an aspiring thread-cop. he's gonna have a lot of work ahead of him if he's going to try to police all the treads where people make an a$$ of themselves.

Well, um, Angus's comments in the other thread weren't very mature either. Neither were some of mine! (He started it...) However, if we limited the discussion here to mature discussion only, we'd have to eliminate about 68.2% of the posts and this place would be really friggin' boring. If I want a mature, academic discussion, I go to school and write essays and get graded on them. If I want to engage in a(n) (un)healthy flame war, I come here. Every once in a while, it's actually kinda fun. Everything has its place. At this point, I'm just real curious why Angus cares so much.

You are a feeble-minded imbecile.

You're entitled to your opinion, but make your insults just a tad more constructive for our amusement.

It WAS wrong on his part... plain and simple.

But in this case... since 9/11 jumpseating has become a real pain... and to have this moron (ACATerry) log onto the internet, log onto a PUBLIC Forum, and demonstrate NO discretion, NO restraint, and NO judgement by posting specific details and inflammatory language mentioning a SPECIFIC company..... it becomes an issue.... and should be addressed. There is no "but"..... except his head for showing how little emotional control he has.

How about simply telling a "commuting" story with no names.... no specific info, and not calling out of the persons company... thats all he should have done... but he's to much of a "bully" to do that.... and it doesn't help when a few of his equally moronic friends decide to "watch his back" on this issue.

Some of you deserve what you get and have gotten in this industry... and fortunately it sounds like ACATerry is getting his.... and since he wants to continue to be bullheaded about this......that sits just fine with me.

For the love of G*d, give it a rest. You're entitled to your opinion on the matter, but from what I've read on the original thread and this one, no one is that much interested in it (opinion, that is).

angus is probably just trying to impress us with his "professionalism" on the matter. you know the type...the one at every company that goes overboard for whatever personal issue they have burning inside.

he's probably so professional, he doesnt know when to stop. you know, probably wears the uniform around the house, makes his kids call him "sir" and wrote a parent-child standard phraseology glossary that everyone in the house has to follow. when out for dinner and asked by a waitress/bartender if he wants a drink when he's within the 8 hour rule, instead of just declining has to announce for everyone "NO I CANT DRINK TONITE, I'M A PILOT...THANK YOU."

although, i'm probably wrong... go ahead and correct me... :)

Shut up. GEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEZZZZZZZZZZ! Nobody in the real world cares. This didn't have an effect on anything or anyone but yourself. Let the man vent.
