Are there any restrictions on jumpseating to Montreal on Comair out of Cincinnati? Thanks

YEs there are.. unless you are a Comair employee.. they were having issues with how to "ticket" the taxes... Taxes are paid ONLY when you are travelling BACK to the U.S. but if someone tries to jumpseat TO Canada, Comair wants to collect the taxes anyway (anticipating your return to US maybe??).. anyway, they have not figured a way to collect these taxes (seems like every other airline just takes your credit card number.. ) so there is NO jumpseating to Canada on Comair. This info was as recent as about 1 month ago.. I doubt they have solved it yet.

Hope this helps
Cheers

You can't even ride in the back? Air Wis goes to YUL several times a day from IAD and ORD and in as far as I am aware there are no restrictions other than you would have to ride in the back of the bus.

At BOS, DAL gate agents working CMR flights swipe your credit card for payment. It was something like $2.50.

I took an offline jumpseater from CVG to YUL a few weeks ago.

You have to list yourself in advance. The dispatchers are supposed to check the flight for an offline jumpseat and include the name on the release.

The problem(s) they were having were customs related and not tax issues.

The jumpseaters name appeared in the remarks section of the release and there were no problems.

I used Comair coming back from YUL, and the only issue I had is that they only take one jumpseater on international runs. Anotehr Delta employee already listed for the jumpseat (rightly so), so I had to purchase a ID-90. Once the jumpseater listed didn't show up, they refunded my ID-90 and let me jumpseat in the back after collecting the taxes by swiping my card.

I've never jumped on Comair to Canada, But I jump Air Willy and NWA all the time. I am never charged anything going in country, but am charged about $26 in taxes everytime I leave. I don't know what the $2.50 is all about.

Continental ALWAYS nails me with mega taxes every time I come back, usually upwards of $20-30 per leg. I don't know why DAL doesn't. NWA has gotten me a few times with taxes, mostly out of YXU. With USAir I never paid taxes.

Last time when I went up north thru BOS was the first time I'd ever paid any taxes to DAL going thru there. And fortunately it was only $2.50. I'm even looking at my credit card statement right now that depicts that.

I'll let y'all know later this week how it all worked out....appreciate the inputs

If your companyy has an agreement with Air Canada use them. I use them over UAL (I avoid them when ever possible - more now than before) or us coming out of Canada. AC don't charge you when leaving Canada (unlike UAL $32 for an OMC EVEN on our own A/C!!!) nor going to Canada. Just have to call their 800 ops number, get listed and see the Captain at the gate for a JS ticket.
