I'm trying to get out to DEN next week and was wondering if there is any way to check loads on United... i.e. a phone number, etc. I work for a CASS airline and I understand United is CASS so riding up front should not be a problem if it comes to that. Do you normally just walk up to the gate to get listed, or can/do I have to list in advance... Thanks.

1800-UAL-LIST

If you are a UAX carrier, follow the prompts and you can check load status. I've listed at the gate before with no problem.

I commute to my gig in ORD on Eagle or UAL. To check loads I use the "American Express" site /travel. It will show everybody and the loads, it's just as accurate as the AA site so they must use all the same info clearinghouse. Of course you don't see how many standby's there are but it's a good guide. Seeing your CASS that will help. By the way my company U5 is not recognised by the ual automated phone system so I gave up on listing. I always just walk up and have never had a hard time. But don't try that at AA or Eagle. Jeeeaashh!

If you're coming from a city served by F9, you may be better off with them as they will fill the back with j/sers, unlike UA.

You might want to update your information. United started unlimited jumpseats in October of 2005.

United....by far the most straightforward jumpseat process of all carriers in my opinion. I always try to use them when possible. They've always been very hospitable too. Thanks guys.

Great. Too late to help me but have had many fine rides from many fine folks at both carriers. Thanks.
