Depends on the airport. Now it seems TSA has to see either boarding card or gate pass to get by them. As usual, each airport is different.....

Most guys will take anyone on the approved list, just look presentable.

1) Limited to 51 for the crj 200 or 71 for the crj 700 or 67 for the ATR 72
2) Last time I heard : Yes.

Tie: not less than 3 inches, not longer than 6', black or white.

To clarify:

ASA has a policy of unlimited jumpseaters for qualified crewmembers of other 121 carriers--after all revenue and non-revenue, and weight permitting.

CASS is operating and also verification can be made using PPR for Delta and DCI carriers.

Show up at gate or ticket counter and present your Passport which is used to verify your elegibility for CASS. Also your license, company id, and medical may be required for verification and qualification. No listing is permitted or required, except for ASA pilots who want to reserve J/S.

Cockpit J/S access is only permitted if CASS requirements are met, if cabin is full, and weight permits.

Non Cass pilots, working for approved 121 carriers, can only occupy cabin seat if one is available, Identification verified, and weight permits after all revenue and non-revenue is accomodated.

Not that this would ever happen...but if the PIC denies you (lets say you work for work fo GoJets, Mese) ask for a copy of the report he/she must submit to the chief pilot regarding this authority.

Is it true that to get the JS you have to be an ASA or Delta pilot? Thats what the gate agents told me a few days ago. I am CASS but due to the above I could not have the JS, which didn't bother me since I got a cabin seat anyways.

BTW thank you to ASA for the ride home on an ATR a few nights ago, it made a bad travel day alot better for me than it could have been!!

Even if you are CASS, the cockpit J/S is not available unless the cabin is full and weight restrictions allow. The only exception to this rule is if you are an ASA pilot.

Most, if not all carriers are putting J/Seaters in the cabin if there is an open seat, even CASS approved pilots. Most J/Seaters prefer a cabin seat--I would if I had to jumpseat.

Agreed, of course. I was under the impression that the gate agent had told him he was not allowed in the cockpit. If no open seats in back and w/b numbers allow it, he IS allowed up front. Samo samo on DAL when I go ATL/JFK or LGA, if there is no seats in back I can sit in front with Capt ok.

We wouldn't deny the jumpseat if you worked for Mesa or Go Jets, but there are W&B restrictions sometimes (especially w/ an alternate), and once in a while we dont have enough crew oxygen for the Mesa or Go Jet jumpseater.

That is exactly the case. They told me that i could ride in the back no prob, but had to be DAL or ASA to ride in the front, even though I am CASS.

If they say that to you again , ask for a supervisor or try and flag down one of the pilots.
