I was wondering if anybody here was a ski bum or snowboarder who jumspeated with their board/skiis.
How about stand by?
Basically, how the heck can I get to somewhere cool to ride dirt cheap!
thanks

If you go to MAPD, you don't need to jumpseat dude.

Silverton and Wolf Creek are both a very short drive.

Dont j/s with your skis. Huge pain in the butt totin' thosesuckersaround and now with the new TSA rules they are more likely tobecome lost.

Dont forget to take your ID to the slope with ya and ask for the travelindustry/ airline discount. Some places have really great discounts andothers have none. ASE use to be about half off but that was about sixyears ago.

Sorry, you can't count Sandia Peak. I love the mountain, but the skiing is awful. Anyplace that gets an inch of rain on Jan 27 is NOT a decent place to ski. But in a pinch, it's better than nothing. I'd drive to Purgatory first though, and Wolf Creek is still the best ski area anywhere, only 2 1/2 hours from Farmington if you drive like a mupper and get stuck once or twice.

But there is some sweet cross country skiing to be had on the Crest, and the mountain climbing can hardly be beat. Unless you have to get your big-face fix.

Hi!

Well, then Whistler/Blackomb is one of the worst places to ski in N. America. They've had rain for weeks now, and 3/4 of their snow is gone.

PS-I had no trouble jumpseating with my skis and boots. They were checked all the way through (2 flights from destination to Vancouver and back). NWA was great!
