Compare to previous months, the lines at ASA have improved for the next month. I hope the trend continues.

Only thing I saw was a reduction of Relief lines on the 700 from 25 to 15 for the Captains, and an increase in reserve.

The CR7 stuff look about there same. I didn't see much dead heading either. A cut in relief lines with about 6 more hard lines. Still not much to crow about in regards to days off. But hey, I fly a cool shiny jet..... Right?

Get this. Heard this straight from an FO upgrading to captain on my jumpseat. (Who is upgrading with new hires in the right seat).

Apparently there are 4 new hires in the newest class that got the ATR. They were SO pissed about it that they actually went to Scott Hall to b!tch and tried to get their award changed to the jet. ALSO, one was quoted as saying: "I trained to be a Jet Pilot. Not a prop pilot."

I sh!t you not.

Was it the riddle guy with 26 hours of multi? Maybe he should be on the jet.

We had one in my class that was just about ready to quit because he/she got the ATR. Hell I love props, I would love to go back to King Airs one day. For that matter I'd fly a J-3 if the price was right.

Are you kidding me? What a bunch of pussies. Go fly the damn ATR. The training department guys are great, the crews are great, and be able to say you flew the damn thing before it goes away some day (if ever).

I can confirm a Riddle new hire complaining about not wanting the ATR too. I'm going to start packing a pacifier for the next crybaby that complains about not getting the RJ.

You guys wonder why Riddle has a bad reputation...here's another example.

Sorry for the above rant.

We as a pilot group have bigger things to worry about. Maybe if the new hires would take an active roll in where our current negotiations and where this company is headed instead of what aircraft they are assigned.:angryfire

Who knows if they were from Riddle. Could be anywhere in this day and age. More likely its some kid from a Fast Track Ab Initio program.

Wow. Can you imagine how quickly those guys would have been shown the door if they had pulled that crap under JG's training department? Combine the Riddle mentality with the sense of entitlement found in the younger generation (whatever you call those in their early 20s now) and you get stuff like that.

Oh yeah, and the lines on the 50 for July are much better, in my opinion.

This is exactly what this next generation is all about. I read a study that these "kids" that are just entering and graduating college were raised differently than generations in front of them. Their parents constantly praised them and reinforced how "special and unique" they were, and now this is what we have. A sense of entitlement without earning anything. No wonder we have so many threads about who will hire me with 50 multi or a commercial ticket only. Or why they have the nerve to go to an upper management type and ask to be taken off the ATR and put on the RJ.

They are lucky that we are desperate for pilots or I bet they would have been offered to resign.

Fine idea there with upgrading them together. We did that at TSA and I felt that I had a distinct advantage in really understanding what was happening. Additionally, the CA upgrades were able to paint a good picture of what to expect. Finally, in the sim, there was no seat swapping so as a new FO, it helped me to learn what the PNF duties were tat much better.

These kids amaze me. A plane is a frikken plane. But they probably haven't done anything else in their short lives other than go to school on mom and dad's dime. If it paid well enough, I'd fly a 152.

I love how everyone says that. I am 21 and I would rather fly the ATR than the CRJ. Most guys I know would fly anything, but I guess you get a$$holes in every generation.

Further, if you were able to start your airline carrer with a CMEL would you? Don't hate the player, hate the game.

P.S. My mommy showed me how "special and unique" I was by letting me pick the belt I was to be punished with.

If you guys just decided to be real pilots and fly freight, you wouldn't be worrying about your lines so much. Sheesh, seems like every other post on here is a whine about a schedule, just get a pager, a lear, and some experience flying down to Juarez or Monterrey, and you've got a great career.

Freight life.

Been there, done that my friend... I can assure you that after you do that crap for a few years you'll be itching for a schedule.

By the way, Juarez and Monterrey aren't all that challenging. Let us know when you finally get to go somewhere that actually requires flying skills.

Lets go back to "lines" discussion here................And by the way ATR is fun flying, give it a chance. You have next 30 to 40years to fly a jet, probably something that is much bigger and more sophisticated than a Regional Jet.
