Judge Beatty thinks Comair pilots worth more ... than what?

New York, NY, December 19, 2005: Today, Judge Prudence Beatty began the Delta Bankruptcy hearing my making the following comment:

"I would like to say to all the Comair Pilots who have been contacting my office to please stop. If I've read it once, I've read it a thousand times. You're underpaid, overworked, and have dusty cockpits. Let's see if you can make it on 10,000 a year."

I wonder if Judge Beatty and her cats could make it on $10,000 a year. How in the heck did such a lose cannon get to be a Federal Judge? I guess after you are appointed for life you can be as crazy as you want to be.

She did get the dusty cockpit thing right. ASA has a program to clean the cockpits and I must admit, it makes a real difference for the better, expecially since our crazies with the paint brush dusters have all retired, crashed, or found work at other airlines.

Hmmm.... I wonder if she is related to the a$$bag continental scab that used to be my landlord in denver of the same name.

Here we go again!

Sounds like she was appointed by none other than Bush, or his Daddy.

OK, and you derived this intelligent supposedly factual statement from what? Ive got to hear this one as I think Ive heard just about every other loony Bush cut out there. Go ahead and enlighten us.

Bush must have some pretty amazing powers, considering that she was appointed in 1982. Mind control, perhaps?

Indeed he was. Bankruptcy judges, however, are not appointed by Presidents. They are appointed by the US court of appeals. :)

Unless I'm misunderstanding what you mean, I'm right.

A U.S. bankruptcy judge is a judicial officer of the U.S. district court who is appointed by the majority of judges of the U.S. court of appeals to exercise jurisdiction over bankruptcy matters. The number of bankruptcy judges is determined by Congress. The Judicial Conference of the United States is required to submit recommendations from time to time regarding the number of bankruptcy judges needed. Bankruptcy judges are appointed for 14-year terms.

Regarding Beatty specifically:
She was the first woman on the Southern District court's bench when appointed by the U.S. Court of Appeals in 1982.

Transcript is out. Judge Beatty never mentioned anything about the Comair pilots.

Its flame bait like this that's made the weather on this board so nice lately. Looking outside, I'd almost say its clear and a million.

I guess I stand corrected then about the validity of my post.

This was not a flamebait post.

This was all over some ALPA webboards yesterday.

I guess when you assume you make an ass ...

Do you blame the GOP everytime you have a hard landing too?
