Gota take some golf clubs along if possible for next weekend batch party. Any thoughts how to do this, can they be checked at the counter if I am JSing or is too much of a hassel, and you suggest borrowing a friends clubs if I have to. Its a one leg flight, then a one legger back in a couple days. Thanks

i say borrow, pretty big hassle if you get denied and your clubs are already into the system since they aren't allowed past the security check point

It's entirely possible. I just JS mine from MEM-DTW-TOL a few weeks ago. I was even amazed, I checked them at the ticket counter (outside security) 15 minutes before the flight left, not even sure if I was going to get on the plane. Sure enough they got on the plane along with myself, thru DTW and arrived with me in TOL many hours later. And this was just with my bag with it's rain cover on. I would recommend a hard case though, the bag took a lil beating. So yea, if I can half-a$$ it and they made it, I would think it would be no problem for you.

I've done it a bunch. No problem at all, even with connection. If you want the bag go no matter what, don't have them put on the "stand-by" tag, if you do the bag will go back to baggage claim if you can't get on the flight.
