Ok, so a plane worth "10M" and all they give you is $1,000 for tips leading to an arrest???????? ROFLMAO!!!!

haha. Not even... the article reads "up to 1000". So... that means you could bring forth the guy who borrowed the aircraft and they could get away with giving you $1. lol

BTW... what if the guy had taken the plane out for a joyride and then landed where he borrwed the plane from in the exact same spot? If he left everything exactly the way it was when he found it... maybe no one would have noticed? The little meter that read how many hours on the engine would have changed. But what was keeping the pilots from thinking... oh well... maybe we read it wrong? or misread the thing? or wrote down the #'s wrong on the log?

Maybe it was being repossessed and for unknown reasons, adequate arrangements were not made to secure the aircraft at its destination!

Either way I imagine homeland security is salivating at the thought of some knee-jerk reaction to put unreasonable restrictions on general aviation.

Might have to spring for Lojack or "the club" for your aircraft.
