John Travolta sucks...

Saw him in an old bandstand clip from 1977 with Dick Clark. He and Clark were talking about him learning to fly a 150 back then.

Don't know anything about him or his flying skills. I just find it completly funny that the majority of the guys bashing him about his flying skills were not born yet, crapping their diapers, or in grade school when he started flying.

Does he think that the town is getting better and progressing or going downhill?

and,(hopefully he'll know something about this given his crashpad situation)

What does he think of the overall real estate market in general? (expensive, lacking, whatever.)

My brother's woman got a hard-to-get job down there and he's gonna move our RE gig down there...if the market is halfway decent.

Thanks again...BTW, I got a 93 on the Inst. written....I'll be happy with that, I guess....I didn't take the II test because I didn't have enough time...I'm gonna do that early next week.

One of the questions I missed was about "destination signs." I hadn't even HEARD about them until the question popped up on the Lasergrade.

Congrats! That's a pretty good score compared to many I've seen. Soem of the questions they ask....you just have to wonder what butthole in a cubicle thought them up, you know?

29 hours of training makes disorientation inexcusable? Crikey. I have a whole lot more than that, and I still get disoriented. I still concentrate on instruments...

Think you missed my point, or I didnt make it clearly. I'm not saying you can't get disorientated because you have instrument training. I'll be the first to admit that I get disorientated, especially when I'm making right hand turns in holds, something about that gets me every single time.

Point I was trying to make was that after 29 hours of instrument training, he should've had it instilled in him more then most that you HAVE to trust the instruments and ignore what your body is telling you. I can understand a little better that happening to someone with no inst. training, but someone that has been exposed to it, and would know how to properly interpret those instruments and react - should've been less likely to get in the situation he did.

I used to work at Simuflite. I know several of the IPs who conducted his recurrent training in the Gulfstream. They all report him as an excellent pilot.

By the way he has had several autograph sessions at Simuflite, spending several hours each time signing autographs and taking pictures with employees. Next time your at Simuflite ask your IP, he'll confirm JT is well liked there.

I use to live in the DFW area, JT first flight instuctor is a resident of a smaller down in the north west area. His first name is Jess I know him well, he has nothing but good things to say about John Travolta. One of my friends grand father is an instructor at simuflite that has worked with John Travolta as well. I have herd nothing but good things, that could be because he hands out money but i HIGHLY dought it. Jess is a great judge of charactor and if he doesnt like someone, he wouldnt talk so highly of them. Just because John has his own 707/G2 doesnt mean people have to bash him or question his flying skills. I wish i could have what he has just like most others do but dont disrespect someone you dont personally know.

When I was a newly minted flight instructor I did a renter check-out. After I told him about what we would do and my criteria I started to ask him about his experience. Air Force (transports or tankers, don't remember which), 707, G2... it was an interesting mix so I inquired further. He had been John Travolta's chief pilot before leaving to go to American and then getting furloughed. He had nothing but good things to say about JT's flying abilities and character.

I can't speak for JT's pilot abilities, but I have met him and knew his pilot at the time I was learning to fly in Santa Barbara. He had a Citation and a Jetstar and later bought a Constellation and the 707. When I met him at Santa Barbara Aviation I thought he was pleasant and I also thought it was cool that he was just hanging out in the FBO watching airplanes from the lobby. Not something you expect to see a TV star doing.

How come we're not hearing more about the American Airlines Chief Pilot and retired Chief Pilot that cartwheeled the P-Navajo coming out the Lakeland WI airport, in this made for tv infomercial? Over flew Travolta's house in OCF

My friend and I overflew Travolta's house in Ocala Fla three weeks ago, 1500 agl, took several pictures of his house with the 07 parked at the >front door<. He also has a small one or two hole golf course in the back yard. I understand he paid to have the private runway extended to accomadate his 07. For you Florida pilots, Travolta's house is about 10-15 miles ENE of OCF.

Along with the rest of all those "Hollywood" pilots. I just saw him on some talkshow, talking about how he was "approached" to fly one of these space tourist spacecraft. (yeah right)

I know I'm idealistic, but I think these people just cheapen the industry. It's just some "folly" to people like Dennis Quaid. Saw him on TV also, flying a citation, with a paid babysitter riding right seat. Makes me sick, cause he bought the ability to fly, just like the rest of them.

Kinda like some Hollywood PFT or something.

Gotta give it to his pilot babysitter though, cause that's gotta be a cushy gig.

He did nothing more than you or I have done. He has paid to play, paid to take lessons, bough airplane(s), etc. Like it or not is wasn't given his tickets or his type ratings due to his last time. He is no different than any other FAA certificated pilot flying around. He simply has more money than most and is afforded more opportunity due to this.

Money is one thing but letting something like this bother you doesn't make much sense when you look at from a logical point of view.

I have actually met John Revolting at an FBO. Don't know if he can fly or not, but he is one arrogant, abusive, self-cenetered ass.

That must have been a horrible encounter!!

Don't you think you owe it to the aviation community to be a little more specific so we can all be on the lookout for this scourge of the airways and better able to defend ourselves against whatever this "abuse" might be?

Exactly what did he do to you or what did you observe him do? Did his dog pee on your leg? Did he make you hold his balls out of the hot sand while he was raping your girlfriend?? Or did he just have the nerve to ask some ramp rat to "fill-'er-up" in a less than condesending tone of voice?

Please, help the rest of us avoid having to suffer the horrible consequences of a chance meeting with this walking A-hole who apparently has the wool pulled over the eyes of most everyone else in the whole world.

I have flown John Travolta and found him to be a very gracious, nice guy. When I see him at the FBO here in Tampa, he still remembers my face and says hi. I watched him sit with fans for 30 minutes signing autographs and taking pictures one night at 11:00PM after a 16 hour shooting day when thet were filming "Basic" in SAV. On the way out to the plane, I asked him if it ever got old. His reply was that without the people who paid to see his movies, he was just another dork who liked to fly...I think the Scientolgy is pretty whacked, but that's his business...

The runway at Jumbolair, where his house is, was not extended for his airplane. It was built by the founder of Nautilus fitness equipment for HIS 707 back in the '80s. His ex-wife now owns the B&B/runway complex. Excellent fly-in brunch one Sunday a month, open to the public.

Anyone ever notice that he considers himself a Captain in the 707, including the stripes on the coat and scrambled eggs on the hat. The funny thing is that he is not rated in the B-707!!!
