The Democrats aren’t going to like that.

I can't blame Kerry for this.

Unemployment bennies have already been extended three times...the economy's roaring back and the jobs are coming...it's time to end the year-and-a-half-long gravy train.

Of course, considering what this guy's been saying, one could easily jump on him for being a hypocrite, but intellectual honesty forces me to see this for what it is.

I do, however, enjoy his response....his spokesman blamed President Bush.

sqwkvfr,

Likewise, I'm not too worked up over the vote itself (good economy, etc), but it is revealing that Kerry considered his campaign more important than this issue that he's been so vocal about in the past. HE certainly claimed to believe that extending the benefits was a big deal. (Judge for yourself if his concern was real or fake.)

Easy to SAY he cares about the unemployed, but when it comes to making a sacrifice so he can cast his vote to actually help them out (i.e. to do the J.O.B. that the good people of his state elected him to do), well, they're just less important than his campaign is.

Needed 60 votes, had 59 for, 40 against, and Kerry out stumping.

Yeah, I think "hypocrite" sums John Kerry up nicely.

Kerry's rob from the rich, give to the lazy followers are too stupid to pick up on the fact that Kerry could have cared less about extending unemployment benefits, because they were in DC attempting to get an extension of the "ban of evil features on rifles"! Apparently these features are so evil that the banning of them is more important than efforts in feeding starving children, saving whales, homing the shelterless and providing workers with additional relief from being unemployed, even though rifles bearing "evil features" account for way less than one percent of all violent crime.
