Right you are. Janet flights to Area 51. There seems to be a high turnover there as I see this ad often. That may have something to do with the "custodial" duties. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Janet_(airline)

I see this position as hard to fill with the required current TS/SSBI clearance. Most job fields that you would be in to get this clearance would have civilian counterparts that would pay quite a bit more than a dx gig.

Interesting Wiki post, Guns. I did not know they had upgraded to 736's. More intriquing is that all the aircraft are registered to the USAF.

The high turn over might be due to the limited number of destinations. Could get boring, but definite bragging rights for dispatching into Area 51 and Edwards at a "civilian" airline.

I was also surprised at the USAF registration. Sounds like an easy job due to the lack of significant WX at the destinations and the short flights. I still have a problem with the custodial work requirement however. Someone with a DX certificate and a high level security clearance need not be cleaning urinals or swabbing floors.

I think Mid 30's....union shop. dispatchguy may be able to give you more info. It's in Illinois...you'll have a former governor making your license plate

Doesn't mention any need for ETOPS or international experience

In reality, you're not going to have many people going to a company the size of RD with ETOPS and much Intl experience. It'll help, of course, but they'll train you on those things. Roughly 99.1% of your flights will be intl, so it won't take you long to get up to speed on that stuff. :)

RD helped make my resume nice and juicy in short order as the ops are so varied from day to day.
