I've run into a bit of a problem with my current CFI job, and was curious as to what you folks think my best course of action is.

I finished my CFI/CFII/MEI at this school back in the summertime, and was told that I would be hired on a part-time schedule (since I'm still in college) and given students accordingly. In mid-October, I got the call. I filled out my payroll paperwork, did Part 141 training, the works.

Fast forward to present day. So far I've received no students, my name is not in the computer as an instructor, and I don't have a desk or even a uniform. In fact, I've been having to rent from this place to maintain my currency. I've done plenty of whining, complaining, and marches into the cheif instructor's office within the past few months, only to hear the same story: "We can hopefully give you students soon."

My question to you guys is: Should I stick this out and wait for students, or go find another company that can actually give me business after graduation? Since I'm still in school, my options are extremely limited at the moment. Also, since this is my first flying job, I'm having a tough time making the decision to walk away from this mess.

What do you folks think? I can feel my morale in this industry waning by the day...

"A bird in the hand is worth two in the bush."

Wait, that came out funny. Dont burn your bridges but always keep your eyes open. I'd look around.

If you cant move or work somewhere else, then keep trying and maybe they will follow through. You are definitly getting hosed. If they are doing this to you now you probably dont want to work for them anyway. Good luck with everything.
