I was downsized out of a very small corporate flight dept. (one airplane) last July. Since then I have been consistantly looking for work.

This is what I have done...

Hit every airport in the Chicago area MDW, DPA, UGN, PWK etc. and knocked on as many doors as I could. Left resumes with as many people as possible and got business cards from them in the process. Then proceeded to call each and every one of them at least once a month or so. I have gotten about 3ish interviews out of it but no luck so far on landing new employment.

I have also sent resumes reqularly to any posting that I qualified for on the aviation jobs sites. I have gotten a few responses from there as well but nothing that resulted in a job offer. I am even willing to relocate for the right position.

I am quite sure that I am not the only guy in the Chicago area that is looking for a flying job. I was just wondering if anyone here might know of anyone who is hiring or will be hiring in the near future paticularly in the Chicago area. Also, if there is something I am not doing that might yield some more results any advise would be appriciated.

Very brief qualifications summary:
7000 TT, 5500 multi, 3300 jet, 1500 jet-pic, 4750 pic, LR-JET type
2 yrs instruction, 4 years flying checks, 4.5 year corporate 135 charter

Thanks in advance

Have you talked to Sears? I heard through the grapevine in late spring/early fall that they may be looking at the end of the year. LR-60's out of DPA.
